Six Stripe Poncho Pattern


Like many good ideas, this simple garment was born from necessity: what to do with an armload of skeins of yarn, some full, some partial? Simple answer: knit a colorful poncho!

This garment is lightweight, warm, and versatile, perfect for keeping next to your favorite chair or packing in your travel bag for use when things turn unexpectedly chilly. The pattern includes a coloring page with chart for planning your color combinations before knitting.

Yarn Requirements
Approximately 960 yards of worsted-weight yarn in six colors, in the following amounts:
Colors A and B = 200 yards each
Colors C and D = 160 yards each
Colors E and F = 120 yards each

One 32-inch or longer circular needle in size US 9, or size needed to achieve gauge. Locking stitch markers, mini clips or waste yarn for holding pieces together for sewing, blocking mats and wires (optional).
